A!TAVOLA is not merely a table: it is a structure-building sectional system allowing for the creation of a wide furniture product range such as bookcases and seats. When we first visited Bertolini headquarters we got soon enthusiastic about their sheet pressing technology for the manufacture of steel kitchens: a product we have been progressively forgetting, although still representing in Brazil the best selling item in the sector. We have promptly agreed on tackling with a complex and fascinating technology typical of the automotive industry applied on furniture accessories. It has been definitely a task working on two archetypal items such as the bed and the table with the claim to reinventing and improving their performance, but we have been eventually gratified by the enthusiastic response of the public at Movelsul towards both products.

A!TAVOLA è più di un tavolo: è un sistema modulare di costruzione strutturale che permette di realizzare tutta una gamma di prodotti di mobili come librerie e sedute. Quando abbiamo visitato per la prima volta Bertolini ci ha entusiasmato la tecnologia dello stampaggio della lamiera per la realizzazione delle cucine in acciaio: un prodotto che noi abbiamo dimenticato ma che in Brasile rappresenta ancora l’articolo più venduto nel settore. Abbiamo subito accettato il confronto con una tecnologia complessa e affascinante tipica del settore automobilistico applicata al complemento d’arredo. Lavorare su due archetipi come il letto e il tavolo con la pretesa di reinventarli e di migliorarne le prestazioni è stata una bella sfida appagata dall’entusiasmo con cui il pubblico del Movelsul ha accolto questi due prodotti.
